I came here with a closed mind, and ended up coming out with a open mind. I now have a different view on life and culture. There are definately things I love about home, and there are things I love about here. I love the days that it is sunny and not rainy, it has the right temperature and it not to hot like Iowa weather, something I will miss for …

Every weekend, Oatridge College had organized a trip for me and my fellow students. We either went into the busy cities of Edinburgh or Glasgow or went to the steeplechase races in the country. Either way, the day was packed with fun events to immerse us into the Scottish culture and keep entertained so much that at the end of each day, we would be exhausted! The first weekend we went …

Haggis is weird and black pudding freaks me out. They don't wear anything under the kilts. There are not lakes in Scotland, only lochs. Everything is 'wee'. Scottish people don't speak English. Highland cattle are furry and adorable. Everything is green. Seriously though, everything. It rains. Always.

Scotland is very green. Boys cat call a lot. There are no large predators, mosquitos, or poisonous creatures! Teachers are very forgiving for your jetlag. It rains a lot, like a lot. Edinburgh is cool. Loch ness and the highland are really pretty.

I can not believe this trip has went so fast! With it being the forth week we have been running around like rats to get everything turned in for our classes. Along with being busy we got to see another training yard with about 20 different flat race horses. Thursday we will be having the chance to see the Highland Shows. I would compare this to a state fair back home. …

Glasgow. Not as cool as Edinburgh. Still pretty in it's own right though! They have some really great museums and art galleries if you're in to that kind of thing. Kelvingrove Museum and Art Galleries are amazing! They have an exhibit on Scottish Impressionist Painters and it was absolutely amazing. We started jumping this week which was really cool! The horses here are great!
